Housing Nest

The housing is locked into the nest, once in place. The spring test is performed here, and the housing is marked once it passes all tests.

Extension Test

This is the extension test fixture which measures the end length of the control cable. A US Digital encoder takes measurements of the free length.

Clip Inspection

An optic sensor in this tower will detect the clip, once it is in place in the inspection tower.

Clip Installed

Here is the clip inspection, with a clip in place.

Sleeve inspection

Optic thru-beam sensors at either end of the cavity assure that an appropriate length sleeve is installed on the conduit.

Spring Test

The handle is opened mechanically with the cylinder shown. If the spring is not correctly installed, the handle will not return to the closed position on its own, indicating a spring failure.

Operator Station

Indicators for missing components, and the US Digital Encoder Display. A keyed reset is required to release a failed part from the machine.

Controls

An OMRON PLC provides means of control.
